BalayaCFCO(Reach The Needy- Ethiopia) was established as one project coordination office of the former CCF, the then ChildFund Ethiopia- in august 2004 in SNNPR, Gedeo, Zone. It officially started it’s project implementation in November 2004 by enrolling 3,000 Children , as CCF Wonago Area Proj Coordination Office. It then became a separate (CBO/CSO) and partner of ChildFund Ethiopia since April 2009- by the name of Balaya.

Balaya is Gada of the Gedeo is seated. It is found about 25 km away from the zone capital Dilla in Bule Woreda. At Balya, the Gada:

• • Pray for peace, Community Health, rain, to end drought and more
  • Conduct arbitration and settle conflicts or disagreements
  • Coronate power

• To enhance healthy development of infants and young children
• To improve quality learning opportunities and achievements in basic education
• To enhance the  livelihood and skills of youth
• To promote child protection & wellbeing activities in the area through community based child protection mapping (CBCPM)

Promote and develop an integrated community development program through the establishment of grass root projects that encourages and ensures community’s participation in decision making, implementation, benefit ownership and control over development program.

RTN Ethiopia aspires to see the establishment of productive, sustainable, self-governing and healthy society that works for the betterment of the quality life and the environment suitable for children.
